      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro about to be launched?

      Update: This product has now been soft launched, and is only available, subject to the following;

      1) New customers only
      2) You must take Sky Talk and Sky Line Rental
      3) You must be in a Sky network area
      4) You can only order by phone, at the moment

      We also note, that there will eventually be a route for existing Sky LLU and Fibre Cutomers to also obtain the new faster speeds, soon.

      .................................................. .............................

      We have reason to believe that a new Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre product, possibly called Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro, is about to be launched imminently by Sky.

      Rumours inbound are;

      • Connection speeds of upto 80/20
      • 30 per month

      Please remember, that this is only a rumour and is by no means an official announcement.

      However, doing various undercover checks on Sky's tester, still shows, speeds of 40/2

      If this is true, it will definitely upset the pigeons at a few certain ISPs offices.

      Apparently, this is not a rumour, we have received this from a known credible source.

      This is not a rumour. When using the availability checker, it is now available to some customers and will be priced at 30pm.

      up to 80MB download speed and up to 20MB upload speed
      Get checking the checkers guys n gals.

      If you want to see if Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro is available for you, please check the official Sky website.

      re: Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro about to be launched?

      Update: The product may be known as Sky Fibre Pro and not Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre Pro as we previously reported. It hasnt yet been confirmed whether or not there will be a download limit on the package but our source imagines that it would be unlimited.

      re: Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro about to be launched?

      If Sky have used the word 'Pro' in the name, it will be interesting to see if they allow small businesses to use it legally.

      I associate the word 'Pro' with 'Professional' and by definition that indicates people who are paid to perform a service.

      I do think that the price is a little steep though. 30 a month sounds good compared to 20 for a 40/2 product, but more people will not reach the full 80/20 connection speeds by comparison. Also BT Infinity is available for 26 per month.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      I don't think many current/would-be sky fibre users will be going for this package...at 10 more...it is useless for home usage...but brilliant for business usage...Isn't Sky Broadband supposed to be for Home usage only??

      If sky offered this to current/would-be sky fibre...for free....or even a few quid more...but not an extra 10...then...I would have been tempted by it...but right now I am not tempted at all....also I cannot see it as an option in the upgrades yet...and my home phone number is giving errors in the line checker..."your number is not a sky line rental number" or to that effect...when IT IS!!

      ...also my dad, works for the local council, and they get 1gb download link...but each worker gets 100mb download link, and they don't even reach 100mb...so 80mb for home usage is practically useless...unless you set up a good business at home...

      re: Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro about to be launched?

      I agree, I work in a large comp and we have a dedicated 10mbps conx to the county server room which then connects to the county's 100mbps link to JANET. They are upgrading to a gig and extending our conx to 100mbps and although our 10 conx is struggling now the added capacity will take an age to fill so I have no worries for my 40mbps from sky.

      TBH I want sky to upgrade the 40/2 to at least 40/6 or 40/10.

      For free of course

      If we were running Sky Broadband, you could have whatever speed you wanted, for free of course.
