Well thats knackered it.

I can only get BSB Connect and I aint paying £17

Plus I think that the limitation of size for E-Mails would be restrictive for my wife.

Never mind eh. It pays to research :-)

Thanks for all your help folkies

Re: Sky Broadband Packages

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could tell me if there is any way to find out who is 'supplying' my BB. I joined up on the £5 connect package about 3 weeks ago, so I realised that because my exchange had not been unbundled, sky was not yet in the area, so it must be supplied through BT gear. However, after a check on my local exchange today with samknows, I found that sky had been enabled last week. Is there any way of telling when the change occurs and will there be any difference in my connection.

currently:
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 16.0 db 10.0 db
Noise Margin 13.9 db 24.0 db

As you can see from those stats, I already have an excellent and very stable connection. Can i expect it to be any different when sky 'take over'?

Did post this in the wrong place before, think its gone, apologies to the Mods if it hasn't.

ADSL Link..............Down .............Up
Connection Speed..8096 kbps......416 kbps
Line Attenuation... 16.0 db..........13.0 db
Noise Margin........ 12.0 db..........14.0db

Re: Sky Broadband Packages

As a headsup, when an exchange is enabled, it usually takes approximately one month to bring onto line etc.

It can take FAR longer to move existing subscribers over from Connect! My Exchange got LLU enabled at the end of March - and still there is no sign of me being moved to LLU! The latest I got from Sky was a letter saying that the £5/month "6 months special offer" for Connect (which would have run out in August) would now last for as long as it needs to!

To answer the original question - I believe that 448k uplink speed is Connect - while Base or Mid LLU are 400k

Re: Sky Broadband Packages

Hello,

Could someone help me? I'm trying to get the Sky Broadband 8 meg for £5 a month. Believe it's the "mid" version. Anyway, I've tried to order it online and the only option that comes up is the 8 meg connect version for £17 a month? Is there a reason that only this is coming up and that the £5 version is not available?!?!?

Am a bit confused!
Help!

Gareth
