      We’re making your Sky better

Copy of email received from Sky, obviously this relates to my Sky account, but should give you the general idea.

We understand value for money is more important than ever, with bills and everyday living costs going up. As we know you enjoy watching stunning HD on more than one TV, we thought it would be better if a single HD subscription covered your whole home rather than being charged per Sky+HD box. So, from 1st September you’ll only have to pay £10.25 for your HD TV. You don’t have to do anything as we’ll make this change automatically – and it will mean you’ll be saving at least £120 per year.

You’ll also be pleased to know that the price of your current Sky TV subscription will stay the same for the next 12 months*. Plus we’re also making our entertainment packages a lot more straightforward, as we’re grouping them into just two packs – Entertainment and Entertainment Extra.

So from 1st September, to make sure you still get everything you do now, we’ll be moving you to our new Entertainment Extra Pack – home to all of our entertainment channels. But don’t worry; you’ll still be able to enjoy all your current favourites, including top channels such as Comedy Central, Discovery, Sky 1, Disney, MTV, Sky Sports News and Sky Atlantic.

~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Does this mean that the multiroom charge is being dropped for HD?

I might be inclined to upgrade for this...

it means i think what it says if you have two hd boxes in your house you will only be charged for 1 hd box the 10.25 hd charge. so no matter how many hd boxes you have you will only be charged once. which i think is what sky should of done right from start instead of charging more than once for more than one box

      It was actually £30.75 (2 x £10.25 HD fees + 1 Multiroom fee).

Exclamation Re: We’re making your Sky better

SO its great that sky will offer HD in any room for one price - however if you already have sky multi room but have a none HD box what is the cheapest way of getting a HD box to replace the non HD box. Or is this just another way SKY will get you to part with money for a new box to watch HD ??????

Probably by buying one from eBay

Anyone who has a multi room sub, will be paying less. If you don't have multi room HD you are no worse off. Whether you want to buy a new HD box from Sky is up to you, there are other sources.
