UEFA Champions League Live on Sky Sports into 2015

Following today’s announcement by UEFA, Sky Sports has confirmed it has been awarded a new broadcast deal for the UEFA Champions League.

Under the three-year agreement - which covers 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 - Sky Sports will show 129 live UEFA Champions League matches each year plus the UEFA Super Cup.

The new deal will give Sky Sports live coverage of up to 15 live matches per week, across both match nights, exclusively in the UK and on a non-exclusive basis in Ireland.
Across the UK the new deal brings:

      • TUESDAY NIGHT MATCHES : All but one match exclusively live each Tuesday throughout the tournament, bringing up to seven live games on Group Stage nights.
      • EXCLUSIVE WEDNESDAYS : Every match exclusively live each Wednesday throughout the tournament, with up to eight live games on Group Stage nights.
      • SEMI-FINALS & FINAL : Exclusive live coverage of one leg from each Semi-Final and shared live coverage of the UEFA Champions League Final and UEFA Super Cup.
      • PLAY-OFFS : Live coverage from the final qualifying round in August with up to five exclusively live matches on each Wednesday and four on each Tuesday of the two-leg ties.

In addition to live rights and highlights, Sky Sports has also been awarded cross-platform rights for use on mobile and broadband. Matches will be offered live on PC or laptop through Sky Player at Sky Sports | Sport News and on mobile devices through Sky Mobile TV.

Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports , said: “Sky Sports offers the most comprehensive coverage of the UEFA Champions League. We will show up to 15 live matches a week, with a choice of live matches, and a full round up of all the week’s action on Wednesday nights.”

He continued; “Our interactive service has been used for several seasons to offer a menu of live games; it has worked superbly and given viewers choice and real depth of coverage. We introduced the exceptional quality of HD, then increased the number of live matches and have now pioneered 3D broadcasts. The UEFA Champions League goes from strength to strength and we look forward to extending our relationship with UEFA.”

On UEFA Champions League nights Sky viewers can pick their live game - or switch between games – by pushing the red button on their remote handset. An increasing number of matches, including all those produced by Sky Sports in the UK and all broadcast on the main Sky Sports HD channels, have been offered in HD and this year’s Final at Wembley Stadium will be produced in 3D.

Yes but they then won't have any live matches on a Wednesday night. Tuesday nights match is just instead of the Wednesday match.
