Thanks Newsreader, do you know if recordings must be viewed before the free weekend finishes like the free Sky sports weekend recently?

Not positive, but I would assume that unless you have Sky Movies then any recordings after the finish would come up with the message, your subscription needs to be upgraded or similar. Unless of course you upgrade over the weekend.

Not really sure if it would be or not, the only way to know for sure is to try when it starts I guess.

This is not the case! Sky change the BROADCAST encryption settings for these weekends - to something all smartcards are already enabled for. The alternative would be changing milions of smartcards TWICE by individual control messages. Any recorded programmes will retain this encoding.

I have not been able to watch one of the films I recorded on the Free Movies Weekend when I tried on Friday evening.

      Re: Sky Movies Free Weekend

As NR suggested, you have to watch these the weekend that they are free. You cannot record them and watch them at your leisure. Sky are not idiots, if they allowed you to do that you could record 2 films 24/7 over the weekend and watch about 50 films when you wanted to. Sky want you to subscribe to Movies, not supply them free to watch a couple every week for half the year,
