We have asked Sky today, (sorry Wednesday) if they have any plans to contact those who have had their details leaked, either by email or letter. We hope to have an answer from Sky today at some point. We will let the forum know in due course.

Let's hope Plusnet ain't released your details, although I believe PN emailed those affected the other day.
      Oh good, feel better now

And yes, when i spoke to PN earlier, they said that if i didn't recieve a mail from them (PN), then i have nothing to worry about.

      Thanks all

Is this the same N*b jockey outfit Sky were told to stear clear of months ago when all the file sharing/legal implication stuff was first talked about?

I think those affected should be contacted, otherwise the only way to know is to download the list and try and find them.

I see that Gallant MacMillan is going to court soon to get some more details on some Plusnet customers, it will be interesting to see if Plusnet fold like a cheap deak chair or take a stance like Virgin and TalkTalk following all the problems with ACS Law.

      Just a thought really.
That is what I have done yesterday. I sent an e-mail to their CEO and within ten minutes I am now within my 31 days notice and then after that I will have no SKY TV, Phone line or Broadband. I basically told them that I could not trust them with my details or my data and that if any of my details are in the public domain then I would seek legal damamges against SKY. They telephoned me up and tried to explain to me why they had to do it, but I still said that I wanted out of my contracts and they have done it.

Here is the e-mail I sent:-

      Fromeleted name
      Sent: 29 September 2010 10:27
      To: Darroch, Jeremy

Subject: ACS Law and Data you sent

I have been finding out about the data you sent to ACS Law. I really don’t care if I was one the 14,000 people on the list or not, but I feel that I cannot trust Sky with my data. I am annoyed that this has happened and I feel that the only way for me to now be satisfied is for you to released me from my contracts that I have with you. I feel that you cannot be trusted as a company with any data belonging to me.
I want you to cancel everything that I have which is as follows
I want my multi-room, My sky line rental, my sky talk, my sky broadband, my sky TV package and hd channels cancelled. I also want no come back to me with early release charges either.

      Yours Faithfully

I also know of one customer got a letter from ACS:Law about doing loading something pronographic, but there was one snag he handn't moved into the property and was going to until the day after he recieved the letter and there wasn't even any broadband setup in the property. ACS:LAW is just scum and hopefully when my local MP about this as well as anyone else should send letters to their MPs' about this matter as the Digital Economy Act is useless and was rushed through by Labour and Peter Mandleson, instead have been thought out all the implications of what would be happening.
