Those who were guilty of downloading stuff illegally can thank heavens someone was completely incompetent.

I like the way the judge in the court is still trying the case that they and mediacat tried to withdraw, even if they don't want it to now.

Given that the judge has already been very critical of both these parties I think it looks like we may get a legal ruling on wether IP tracking can be used as a means of identification especially when places like pirate bay spoofed a lot of fake ones.

I am not for piracy but moving piracy onto the internet stopped a lot of criminal gangs and terrorists making money selling dodgy DVD's in markets and pubs.

The government needs to sit down and have a proper intergrated stratergy rather than make stupid laws that hollywood wants that week.

There will be other vultures ready to step in and make a quick buck. This sort of tactic is going to work as there are many vulnerable people out there who do not know this firm has been stamped on for sending threatening letters with no intention of pursuing them. How many are still being taken in by the Nigerian 419 scam?

Thank you for the update Tom.

Sadly the Act will soon be hijacked by various multi-billion dollar companies, demanding hundreds and thousands of pounds from those with only a few pounds.

This is another thing that the last PM messed up.

      A little good news.

ACS:Law fined for data breach ? The Register

Only 1000 though, as Mr Crossley is allegedly broke. Let's hope so.
