That has always been the stated Sky position! What they are doing is closing a loophole!]
I have been unable to establish what will be included within the 10/month HD subscription although I suppose BBC HD, ITV1HD and Channel 4 HD would be a safe bet?
What you want is unanswerable! As Sky say "HD Channels depend on current subscription" - for example Sky1HD depends on Variety Pack (as do others), DiscoveryHD depends in Documentary Pack etc. etc.

However with NO HD Pack at all (ie. not paying the 10) you still get (and can record|) BBCHD, ITV1HD, C4HD, FiveHD and LuxeHD

In other words the most watched channels in any event - that's why I ditched the sub long since. Well that and I couldn't really see much difference anyway so I now mostly stick to SD.

Whereas I did not have the HD Pack for almost 12 months - but now consider it well worth while! I do, of course, find the difference from SD to be glaringly obvious!

I take it then you're not a 720p Panny Plasma owner who sits 12 feet from the panel?

They should drop the 10 charge for HD and just let people pay for the HD channels they want. Charging 10 and for HD and then an additional fee if you don't have a specific pack is double dipping. They're trying to force people to buy their packs. I already have all the packs so it is of no consequence to me, but I can definitely see the negative side of this for many.

Does anyone know...if I were to cancel the 10 HD sub, would I then be charged 10 for the sky+ facility?! (apologies if this has already been asked/answered)

      Thanks
      Tim

Can i cancel my HD subscription if i want now that they are changing the T and Cs .
I had 6 months free and then 6 months at 10 after that and the 6 months free is up next month .
I know with mobile phone contacts you can cancel if they change the T and Cs ,
is it the same here .

I don't believe you can as the T&Cs allow them to vary the channels within a 'pack'.

Re: Rumour: Changes to Sky+HD Subscriptions from 1st October 2010

rumour is true this will be changing cannot garuntee when. 3d will not be included in hd package unless u have sky world and hd mix. it is due to launch in september though. and i very much doubt if you lose a couple of channels due to change in t&cs you could cancel the hd pack within contract you will probably just get clawback and have to pay your remaining months upfront and not receive them not a great move. and they didnt make very much revenue off the world cup because itv hd was only available in england for a start and is a free to air channel its not included in the 10.00 a month charge if you cancelled the pack you would still get that channel and bbc hd and channel 4 hd and now channel 5 hd too
