I can only recommend looking into the "free for 6 months" broadband unlimited deal currently being advertised on Sky's website, which finishes the end of this month.
If those of us on Everyday switch to Unlimited now and get 6 months free, will the second 6 months-worth of the 12-month contract cost 7.50 or 10 p/m?

Either way I think it works out less than doing nothing and so paying 5 for the next couple of months then 7.50

Spare a thought for those of us on Sky Connect - Sky do nothing for customers like me and they genuinely have to be the worst ISP in the UK for such re-badged BT products.

I agree to a certain point but no one forced you to go onto Connect in the first place. For me, I wasn't on it for that long but if I was thinking of joining Sky now I would wait until my exchange has been unbundled by Sky and then only join when I would be guaranteed not to go on the Connect service.

Re: Sky Launches New Up To 20Mb Broadband Product

I'm a Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Talk customer, not currently under a contract. I spoke to Sky this morning about the new rate 7.50 from 1st June and the 12-month contract.

I was told that I will be automatically put on the new lower rate from 1st June and I will NOT be tied to a 12-month contract.

This sounds good but is not entirely in line with the news at the start of this thread.

Has anyone else got this confirmed from Sky?

      Regards
      Sunil.

LLU will never happen on an exchange such as ours - Market 1 less than a thousand customers. When I joined Sky Connect (pre-evening traffic management) the speeds were very respectable e.g. up to 7 mbps even in the evenings. I still get those sort of speeds during the day but not much use as I'm out at work. However, the evening speeds are now often as low as 0.5 mbps and I'm a very light user which makes a mockery of Sky own traffic management policy.

If you have Sky Talk, then it will be 7.50, if not, it will be 12.50, as far as I am aware. At least that is what the Sky guy told me when I was signing up for it. Mind you, he got it all confused anyway and ended up putting it through as 12 months half price line rental, instead of 6 months free Broadband.

Regardless, I'm better off in the long run. Or would be, if I could rely on my broadband working *sigh*

Be aware that, when you upgrade to the new package, DLM will once again be triggered on your line, meaning the potential for disconnections and poor speeds for approximately 10 days.

I've heard that might change shortly - NewsreadeR, can you ask your sources to confirm/deny?

Anyone taking the new 7.50 BB Unlimited must commit to a new 12 month minimum term folks

Re: Sky Launches New Up To 20Mb Broadband Product

Well from what I can understand from all of the fine print there is no possibility of my getting the upgrade to "up to 20 mb" for a free 6 months
So what would be my best option - just waiting until I am moved by sky?
      I have sky broadband already
      Sry for being dim.
      Thanks.

have got this email reply - re the new pricing-

      Dear Mrs Jones

Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.

In regards to your Broadband I can confirm that as of 1st Sep the new price of Broadband Unlimited will be 7.50 with Skytalk or 12.50 for customers without Skytalk. To take advantage of this offer earlier customers can do so by renewing there 12 month subscription online via sky.com. If however the customer chooses not to opt for this offer then the new prices will take affect as of 1st Sep and there will be no contract renewal.

I hope this helps with your enquiry.

      Kind regards

      Malcolm
