If Sky were to charge say 15 p/month I guess you would be more than a little upset.

Ultimately if Sky has been working hard to increase the backbone capacity, then this has to be good news for everyone concerned.

It shows that they will be wanting to get people onto their new Fibre network/s and if they were to price it too high, then people will not be switching across.

It also means that they have recognised the issues with the backbone that occurred this time last year and have no desire to repeat them.

Origin Broadband are charging that for a 24meg service + one off installation charge (and 22.50 for upto 40meg), also unmetered.

Wish they (Sky) would announce something now. Its not like they're being silent to try and be the first out of the starting gates - that horse left months ago. Why not announce 'sky fiber - coming soon/watch this space', or something like that. Would probably be enough to make me hold off for another month or two, otherwise Sky will probably end up losing me for another 18month (at least) if I signed with Origin.

Before yesterday I hadn't heard of the firm either. A quick search 11 mins ago and I found them.

You probably havent heard of them because their service is restricted to the South Yorkshire Region, and runs under the Digital Region | South Yorkshire superfast broadband network.
