all I can say to everyone leaving sky for bts fibre you will regret it i can guarantee it. bt is horrible i had horrible experience with em to when I was subscribed to them. bt are terrible at capping your internet and this is wrong this is why i prefer sky because there is no cap on there unlimited package.

My, exchange was due to go "live" for "FTTC" by 31/03/2012 - now, 31/12/2012!

Hopefully, Sky will be have made a decision by then.

Getting BT FTTC tomorrow - fingers crossed! I'll probably be out of contract by the time SKY come here!

What will also be interesting to discover is how a move from ISP's could take place under a fibre regime - any ideas?

      Cheers
Same as now I'd imagine. As in moving from a FTTC A > FTTC B would just involve a switcheroo at the exchange as is the current case. If going back to ADSL, you'd have to be disconnected from the fibre cab first then jumpered back onto the correct kit at the exchange.

I expect we won't hear anything until they announce the current quarter results. I believe Scubbie said that if they announced or launched something now, it would skew the results so they'd want to announce it after so it could be worked into the next quarter.

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

Just had a call from Sky about why i left Sky BB and 80% of the questions i was asked were surrounding fibre. One of which was would i still take Sky Fibre if it was an extra 15 on top of my sky bill.
