No doubt they will announce more nearer the summer when the current batch are due to be completed; or possibly even next month.
The ones due for completion in summer are by no means the last to be enabled. They will have passed ~2 million homes by the summer out the 10 million they want to so still plenty of scope.

I'm on the Woodford (East London) exhange, which is due to be upgraded by April 2010 accoding to the Openreach list. This concurs with what an engineer told me a couple of weeks ago when he came to fix the same line for the 4th time in 6 months - seems BT have been resisting replacing the green cabinet at the bottom of my road until they are ready to roll out fibre.

Hello mate - fellow user from Sunny Nunny.

The new cabinet for my connection is in Jodrell Street. I had BT Openreach out for another issue about 2 weeks ago (to check noise on my line), and I asked him about speed upgrades. He said Nuneaton and Hinckley are in the the top 10 regionally for FTTC installs, so fingers crossed!

It does seem Nuneaton is progressing well, there now appears few Openreach vans are at roadside cabinets where a couple of weeks ago they were like a rash all over !

I do wish I could get your speed, I'm on 4Mb out here in the wilds of Marsdale !

No it means you are being moved to Sky's 'state of the art' high speed network, referred to as SVBN. Going by what has been posted here you are more likely to get a speed decrease, rather than an increase.

      See here
Lost speed with move to SVBN

Sky will dork this up like they have with the incredibly oversold Sky Connect, which isn't really even broadband most of the time.
