An overpowering need to possess something. Like some folks with iPhones.

Well hopefully BTO or someone else will install FTTC or FTTP (preferably) in my local area and in range of where I live before then end of next year.

In the mean time it would be nice if Sky would shake of the dust & blow away the cobwebs and jump into the Fibre technology properly.

The LLU product range is good value for money and very stable. I am sure that they could have a Fibre based product that was equally good value for money and stable too.

I'm going to be tempted to jump ship when the FTTC goes live in December here - but I need to look before I leap.

      1. I'll lose Anytime +
      2. If I ever wanted to go back to SKY BB I'd have to be tied into their line rental etc. Though I wonder if they've got a plan to contract everyone in that way.
      3. Looking at the TB map of speeds - in my area I'm one of the highest at almost 13mbs. Realistically it almost seems ATM that the computer with Norton checking everything (or Kaspersky for that matter) is going to be more of a bottleneck than the download speed - and as I don't use it for gaming u/l isn't really an issue.

      Just a few thoughts.

As far as I can see only 10 days notice is required to cancel Broadband. You should really have a good read of the T & Cs for Talk and Broadband, Sections 8 and 11 respectively. You will find them here-
Sky Terms and Conditions - Sky Talk

If I were you I would use the Contact Us form to advise them that you are moving to BT Infinity, a fibre product, on 27/10 and that this is your notice to cease the services on this date.
Had a letter from Sky, and BT today. Sky was saying they received a note from BT that I was switching per 27 October. As it is 17th now, all seems to be going according plan. Can't wait to be able to upload 10 times faster........

Something seems to be afoot with Sky fibre. Noticed recently there is now a fibre product showing up in the system alongside the usual adsl ones when you go to make a sale.

Could be nothing, but there you go.

There was a similar addition about a month & a half before the Sagem 2504N was release.

This being the case, could FTTC be launched at the beginning of December in time for Christmas?
