Do you have more information on this as I live in Harrow?

The trial is specifically just for those covered by the South Harrow exchange, not your Kenton exchange.

People who live in the area covered by the South Harrow telephone exchange were leafleted at the time, followed by people knocking door-to-door and it has now started.

You can read a little about it here:

I suspect it has something to do with all that Pollyfilla in the cabinet.

It's a quarterly based computerised script. Your cabinet will not show up with an activation untill 2 weeks before they are ready to switch it on. The 1st and last date of the month are computer generated. Anything other then that and it's game on.

If your cabinet has been installed you should not have to wait for long.

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

What makes me a little curious is that here in Porthcawl (S. Wales) the cabinets are up, Openreach vans are very busy, but there has been no local publicity. I would have thought that BT would have bltized the area, possibly offering sweeteners for early adopters etc. But Apart from a barrage of Option 1 (no thank you - barge and pole come to mind) offers - nowt. Yet Samknows indicates FTTC is already enabled in some parts of the town.

      Cheers

As long as the sales and marketing MD is getting his fat pay check I guess he's got nothing to worry about. I agree though that Infinity is poorly marketed product. Once the cabinets go live you should have plenty of little flyers coming through.

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

I was talking to a BTO engineer today as he was working on the box, he said the fibre was being blown towards the cabs today.

I was going to sit tight and wait for Sky to announce something but i keep hitting brick walls when talking to them about fibre, they genuinly seem to know nothing and if the top bods arent bothered then niether am i, i'll give BT my cash.
