I was hoping that Sky may decide to launch their FTTx product range this September/October.

I am still hoping that Fibre will be installed in my local exchange too.

Really strange one for you. Openreach/ Telent has been looking at the cabs round here recently but EASUD isn't on ANY lists to be done yet lol

The fibre cabinets are new and completely different from the old ones. The engineers were probably just carrying out repairs and maintenance.

More than likely based on the latest list of areas to be enabled, just weird to see 6-7 groups of engineers all of the town.

thinkbroadband :: Openreach announce further 66 exchanges for fibre broadband

Woohoo, my exchange is on the list as FTTC/P . Question is will they do my road?

Mine is finally getting it next year. Wonder if Sky will unbundle it in the meantime.

My exchange was enabled for FTTC last December but no signs of FTTC here. The estimated date keeps on advancing every three months. It's funny how BT confirmed the day before yesterday that I would be able to order Infinity on 30th June despite there being no FTTC cabinet around me. As expected the website now says 30th September.

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

all the June/July dates were pushed back yesterday.

My cab was installed a moth ago and it has moved to the 30th September for live date.

As for a lot of Openreach about, they are replacing a lot of the old cast iron cabinets for new shiny Sheet steel ones.

Our phone cabinet was replace a couple of weeks back, so 2 new shiney cabs for me.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
