To a degree it would make sense (annoyingly), i know that sky are signed up to the PIA trials which will give them access to BT's ducts and poles but time will tell.

Our new cabinet was finally installed yesterday and when I asked BT when I can order they were trying to put me off getting it.

I can only assume that BT are really really swamped with installs at the moment.

So daily check on BTWholesale line check for me now.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

A friend of mine just moved from one side of Bristol to another, he had Infinity installed at the old house so when he found out the new house could have it he couldn't order it quick enough. Funny thing is that every night without fail his connection nose dives to the point he gets a better connection from a 3G dongle!!

BT's response? "It's a new technology so is very unstable!" How I laughed.

The link has been dead for ages and no one who applied when it was live has heard anything.

Staff trials are still ongoing at the moment. I think they're a while away from announcing anything yet.
