Just one small thing to add...

I have three computers hard wired via the buggy HH3 router. One is an overloaded Intel Core Duo machine with 4Mb of RAM and running Norton as the Internet security suite. It has become worse and worse at doing speed tests. Often showing D/L around 17-20Mb OTOH the Windows 7 64Bit machine gives consistent readings around 37.5Mb. It might always be worth a check that our computers are coping with the faster speeds.

This is a very valid issue.

Anyone with an old PC with limited resources or something that is under powered will struggle with the improved speeds.

This is something that I have noticed with my LAN when transferring large files.

I'm on a ZX81. Do you think that will be OK?

Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband

Sort of. I had enquired by email some weeks previous as to the cost of leaving Sky inside the 12 Months as B.T. could now offer me a 28Mb connection and it is dribbling in via Sky at 4Mb. I was fishing for info re Sky fibre really and had given up on a reply, then....................
