When I "spoke" to Sky yesterday via webchat, they stated I (we?) would be receiving an invitation when fibre launched. Whether this will be via email or letter, I don't know.

Sky are advertising on their business site for subscribers to install the Cloud, so it looks like are lot more pubs, hotels etc will be offering it.

if it works fine at 40Mbit the DLM won't waste time specifically monitoring for 10 days, if you sync at 30Mbit the same again and the same for every speed. Thats what I meant, you won't get it fluctuating up and down, it will just work.

Thing is 50p is nothing, half a million 50p's a month extra is considerable.

FWIW lots of ISPs only have a 2Mbit upload, even the cheaper BT option is a 2Mbit upload, only the BT unlimited option is 40/10.

Something else to bare in mind is for everyday surfing I didn't notice much difference between 6Mbit and 40Mbit. Where you do notice a difference is we can have 4 Netflix HD streams going at once while 2 ps3s are online playing MW3 with zero problems.

I'll be honest if BT do offer 80/20 as a free upgrade I'm am looking forward to the 20 more than the 80. I seriously doubt 80Mbit in reality adds much value but a 20Mbit upload would make a massive difference for stuff like flickr or dropbox etc.

      lol - rub it in

When my exchange finally gets Fibred up, I'll be a lot happier.

Whilst 50p multiplied by many customers adds up, on a per account basis, it isn't a huge amount.

      P.S. Check you PMs please
