That's funny - I have just had an email saying that mine will arrive tomorrow.

I am sure some of our members have reported having them fitted.

You can get the 1Tb box on self install now. Its 249 for the box + 30 delivery.
Its been available on Chordiant for at least 10 days.

Re: Sky To Allow Self Install on Sky+HD?

They're offering self install as an option when I asked, "So, I want Sky HD, what's my options" - but only if you already have Sky+ installed; for ancient Sky Digibox users like me (the box is ancient, I'm still beautiful) it's engineer visit...

That is because you will require a new LNB, another cable and possibly a dish upgrade. Fitting these is outside the ability of the average viewer. If you have Sky+ it is just a case of unscrewing 2 connections from the old box and screwing them on to the new box. Plug in the HDMI cable, power up and that is it.

Re: Sky To Allow Self Install on Sky+HD?

Will see what happens; I described the setup to the sales team. I told them there's no access to the dish, 'cos it's communal system. Am in a flat, with two feeds coming into the front room - both are active (I can use the single feed on my sky digibox in either slot, and it works.)

Just hope that there's nothing 'odd' going on...

Re: Sky To Allow Self Install on Sky+HD?

I should have said " Normally that is because you will require a new LNB... etc" Most users with an standard box will only have a single LNB. Yours is different as you are in a flat with the necessary cables. I expect it is a standard thing that an installer visit is required when you have a standard box. If it works OK the installer will be rubbing his hands as he will be getting paid for doing next to nothing.
