Well chaps.........Can't say I'm very impressed with HD PQ It doesn't appear to be much better than what I had b/4 on my Pioneer LX 5090. Anyone else feel this way?

Re: Sky To Allow Self Install on Sky+HD?

It just doesn't seem to be such a big improvement on PQ that I was expecting.

The PQ on my Pioneer 5090 was very good after I had it calibrated recently anyway. Perhaps I'm expecting too much.

Don't get me wrong, It's a big improvement on the Sky+ I had b/4 and I do like the new EPG although the remote is a bit slower to respond.

Sadly I think that is only if you are upgrading from a non sky+ box....

If you have sky + already you don't get the discounted box, which means you pay £199 plus the set up.

I got the impression the poster who asked the question, (chrisbez) was on Basic Sky.

Update.

I'm happier with HD now I've had time to look at a few progs, I was comparing it to Freeview b/4 and still think there's not a masive improvement over that, but Sky HD certainly is better that Sky SD IMO

Re: Sky To Allow Self Install on Sky+HD?

It still confuses me how they can show 50+year old B&W films in HD.
