on the sky websites about anytime + they say that it will be available for ALL sky HD users that have sky BB. I have had HD since it began, had no say what sort of box i had installed (its a Thomson). if the new service is only going to be available to those with Amstrad boxes what about the rest of us? will sky give us a replacement box? i have never had any probs with mine, never had an engineer out for out. if its in the lap of the gods what box we have how can we then receive this new service?

You will still receive it on your Thomson, it just may not be in the first wave. I still haven't seen it confirmed officially that it's only the 2 models of Amstrad that will get it first.

No need to be concerned about swapping your box.

i suspect that Sky are choosing Amstrad boxes first, as they were on of the last to get the new EPG. seems fair to me.

............then again, maybe it is because they own Amstrad and want to give their own boxes a head start so they can iron out the problems.

We bought Comtrend Powerline ethernet adapter with Filter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics to network up a computer a long way from the router, to connect a Bluray with iplayer connectivity, and to anticipate this use (2 pair) - on recommendation from someone at Sky. (Not specifically these ones, but this type of thing).

Unfortunately they've gone up in price since I bought ours - we paid about 40 per pair.

      Hi

I posted the info from Sky regarding the 60 charge for the wifi dongle things for AT+. I'm assuming that 40 of this will be for an engineer to install it for you as the only 'Self install' option i was told about was the ethernet option.

Hope this sheds some light on the matter, again, it's still early days, we'll see exactly what happens when the 18th comes and goes...

Re: Sky VOD Final Trials Soon

I can't believe that there would not be a self install option for the wifi box as for an engineer to install it they would need access to the persons router and thus the username and password and more importantly a computer.
