On the my sky section, when you can look at your line to see if testing is running etc anyway how do i find the bit that shows what the max speed is set to for up and down stream, or can i only view this once the upgrade has been done.

in theory because sky have control of everything and theres no third parties involved it should be a good thing(not including the 30mb usage drop on mid).at the end of the day though its a wait and see situation because theres so many variables involved, everyones lines and connections are different.some will love it and see a massive improvement, some wont notice any change and some will hate it.just remember that alot of posts you read are people with prolems that need help so you see a lot of the negative.
sorry this doesnt give you a definative answer but sky are moving to something new and only time will tell.

i dont think it shows you that on your my sky page, you need to look in your router settings for that.after the dlm has been run on your line you'll be able to see what its been set at..

If you sign in to your MySky page and look down the left side, you will see a section called Broadband, click the Details link. There it will give you the details. If your line has not been DLMd it will just show the package you are on and the estimated speed you were given when you joined. If DLM has run it will show the download and upload speeds your line has been set to.

I don't see the point in them DLM'ing me as I live about 200 mtrs from the exchange. Unless I had terrible wiring, which I don't, I am always going to get the max offered.

Yep, I know what you are saying, I'm in the same boat.
Unfortunately, Sky probably dont have the resources to go around analysing everyones line stats and its just more cost effective for them to zap everyone.
Which is what DLM is effectively doing automatically - analysing the stats i mean.
