is dlm compulsory???do you or does anyone know if you can ask for your line to be left alone,it took ages to get my line sorted and while all the messing about was going on it was a nightmare to play on live or psn.i dont want to go through that again...!!
i also need to know if the change to mid means sky have altered the contract i signed up for??
do people get to cancel whilst in contract without getting disconnection charges??
this is really important cos i dont want to move up to max and start another 12 month contract..

I feel that those that aren't happy should be allowed to keep their old package, or leave without penalty. It shouldn't be too hard to have a legacy package, most other ISPs do.

The increased upload would be great as the current is a poor comparrison with most of the top 10 ISPs
The loss of 30GB and having to go through DLM again is the same feeling of bending for the soap in a all male prison shower.
I assume that sky will then be either start capping users that go over or suggesting they upgrade to Max.

I just checked the Mysky broadband section and found that my max line speed currently is down as 2.5mb strange how Im connecting at 5mb and if I wasnt capped could happy live on 7mb.
I really do hope they dont feck this exercise up like they did with the DLM fiasco.
|
strange cos i just looked at my bb page and mine says the same, except i had 6mb but it was capped at 4mb so my line was stable to keep my ping down.a few weeks ago it said my line could only handle 1.5mb.....

I signed upto sky MAX on the 15th , my router arrived 18th june.. My activation is due tuesday 23rd , does that mean that i wont be on max but on the unlimited service?
My connection is upto 16mb , but the test said i should get atleast 4mb with this new service should i get more than 4mb?

No, the only ones who benefit are those with an existing 16Mb connection. I wouldn't take too much notice of the 4 Mb though, in most cases this is underestimated.

I just got disconnected and put on an IP range I haven't had before (94.) Hmm exciting. Doubt it makes any difference lol
Can't wait for the extra upload.

I know that feeling well after the protracted arguments I had with them the first time round!

Reading on other forums the first you will know about going over your bandwidth allowance is when your broadband connection simply stops working forcing you to spend hours on the phone talking to some muppet in the Naughty Customers Department regarding your 'abuse' of the service forcing you to upgrade to Max before they will reinstate your broadband connection!
For me personally this is just the final nail in the coffin and it will be good riddance to cunning, devious and dishonest Sky for once and for all!
Well feck 'em this time!!! They WILL NOT get another penny out of me I'm off to O2!

Re: Changes to Sky Broadband from June 22nd 2009
if you have SkyTalk for calls only, you can have BB with anyone...
if you have line rental as well, it needs to go back to BT before anyone else can touch it...
if you have the new LLU phone line, you need BT to take the line back onto their gear before anyone can touch you...
