Sky need to have a tool for users to watch their usage like many ISP's do and not expect users to find tools to use
Sky have admitted that they do not know what individuals users use, so there is little chance of that. Their network company.Easynet, are the only ones who have this information and only advise Sky when someone exceeds the limit. Which they either have not done or Sky have taken no notice. When other companies, Plusnet for one, can do, it is hard to see why Sky can't.

Sky in their wisdom have set their system up for MAC address of the router, and not the phone line, as Plusnet and others do.

Therefore if you are rate limited or capped etc - I am pretty sure if you had another Sky router, then just connect that, your problems would then disappear.

Hindsight (and copious amounts of lager) are a wonderful thing.

Not that any of the fine upstanding citizens that comprise the Skyuser membership would ever consider doing such a thing...

I didn't think of that! When you do, you can see the difficulty in keeping track, especially with the large amount of routers they have replaced, without removing the old one from the system.

Re: Changes to Sky Broadband from June 22nd 2009

I am on max, well now its called unlimited. Sky tried to charge max users 15 a month for max a while back if you did not have sky talk, I phoned them up and said i wanted to leave because of the 50% increase and they froze the paymant at 10 still, all was well and good.

Now they have sent a letter saying that i will be charged 15 again as of january 2010, unless i have sky talk. I liked paying 10 for skymax and we have sky tv too, the only difference is this time i cant be bothered phoning them so i am in the process of joining virginmedia as its 2 a month less for the hd package with free espn ( premier league ) so i am switching as we only have the standard sky tv package and would cost us another 9 a month to have sky HD.

I just cannot be bothered anymore with sky changing stuff and adding an extra 1 for tv and 5 for broadband pffttt....... its been fun but i think virgin media suits me better anyway.

A 15 year tv subscriber and 4 year broadband customer has left the building.

      Regards to all
