DLM has not run on your line yet. You should get a bit more upload, but unless you can improve the noise margin on your download, you will not get much more on that. Try the stats in your Test socket.

The quickest way to get the upstream speed increased is to phone sky and ask for it to be increased, instead of waiting for DLM to start.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

      I sent this email.

      Original Message Follows: ------------------------

Hi Sky Team. I had to turn the power off in the house during the 10 day DLM training for my line. I think DLM saw this as a drop in connection and has therefore set my line at a slower speed than 20Meg. Could one of you nice people reset my line to 20Meg ? My line is fully capable of this speed thanx. My stat's are below.

      And got this reply.

      Dear Mr *********

Sorry for the delay in replying to your message.

In reply to your email, I have made some adjustments to your line. Can you please monitor this over the next 72 hours. Your download speed is now at 20000 Kbps and an upload speed of 1024 Kbps.

I hope this helps with your enquiry.

      Kind regards

      Trisha

      And then sent them this

Thankyou for your time and effort. I am almost their. Current stat's are below. 20Meg should read as 20480kbps. And 1meg upload should read as 1024kbps. Not getting that at the moment.

And then last of all this.

      Dear Mr,********

Sorry for the delay in replying to your message.

I have configured your line at 20480kbps. Your trained in speed will always be slightly under the configured speed when your on an ADSL+2 connection however this does not mean you are losing a lot of data.

Please continue to monitor your connection.

      Kind regards

      Martha

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Cool, thanks for the help, I emailed them and hopefully I should have it increased soon.

@isitme - Couldn't find a master socket in my house, only have 2 connections, 1 which is fine and I get 15000+ syncs and the other where I get 10000-15000 syncs due to dodgy internal wiring. Not really bothered about more download speed but would like a needed upload increase! Been patient enough for DLM since june and still nothing

      More stats from today

      dodgy socket:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12585 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 15 db
Noise Margin 9 db 10 db

      good socket:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15125 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 15 db
Noise Margin 7 db 18 db

Unfortunately I have to use the dodgy socket most of the time because it is close to the computer/printers.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

You must have a Master Socket if you have two extensions, I believe.
Your Master Socket will have a removable faceplate, thus having two screws. The 'test socket' is underneath.

Oh and for your distance of the printers/PC's, I recommend HomePlugs. I was recommended them via this site. They work grand. (as long as your electrical wiring is fine)
