      kwik question,

should i avoid some things while my line is being messed with.

i,e no heavy ups or downs or can i carry on as normal?.

i was hoping for a little better than this but i got 4 days left, if it is indeed 10 days.

I doubt if you will get any more, looking at your noise margin, a reduction is more likely

It does not matter how much you use your connection, as long as you don't disconnect it.

I thought DLM was supposed to keep changing your line. Once again my line speed has not chnaged in the past few days and is at 2045Kbps where as before DLM I had a 3040Kbps sync with no noticeable issues.

Do I wait until DLM finishes and then call you know who?

If I were you I would call now,at least after 10.30 tonight for the best chance of getting CST. Ask them to suspend DLM on your line and return it to G.DMT as ADSL2+ is crippling it.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Pre Line Testing I was regularly syncing at 8189 after a peak of 9213 during line testing it stabilised at 7596 so I called Sky who tweaked it back up to 9021 so now I'm getting about 7.9mb download out of my 10mb mid package so it was worth a phone call.

Have you tryed the test socket just to see if the connection stats change at all.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 19007 kbps 997 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 6.1 db 7.5 db
Mine seems to have ended up like this:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 17023 kbps 1065 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 11.8 db
Noise Margin 7.6 db 8.0 db

The testing never took place according to My Sky - broadband details, and seems to have ended after 4 days (last week).

Oddly, after a couple of router reboots I had to do this week, the downstream line attenuation changed to 20.5dB and NM went up to 10.8 dB - then within a day reverted to the figures above (twice). I connect to the BT test socket.

So after DLM, mine went from 14335 kbps / 796 kbps to 17023 kbps / 1065 kbps - not as much as I'd hoped but better than a kick in the teeth. It'll do nicely.
