Skys LLU equipment is already capable of 24mb it's just not being utilised yet.

The main problem with this is opnly a few people have good enough lines to get it. If you are currently getting the most out of your line, this will not give you any more.

More people are able to get an increase in their upload though so that should improve gaming etc.

Well i'm on Mid and will wait for the letter to arrive this week.

My exchange went 21CN on 31/5/09 but from what i can make out it won't change my connection speed.

10Gb download limit may be pushing it. Normally around 12-15Gb a month.

How come they are only going upto 20mb and not the full 24mb that can be achieved?

The 21CN is BT slowly catching up to the LLU providers so it won't affect LLU products. What it does mean that BT will be able to offer ADSL2+ eventually.

BT is making a lot of noise just by playing catchup.

Simply being 21CN enabled is not enough for broadband, for that the Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) enablement date is the important one. When that comes round BT and the ISPs they resell to, will be able to offer ADSL2+ on that exchange. Which Sky and some others offer at the moment.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

It may not be fraudulent but they are hardly being honest. They are still offering mid broadband on the web with 40gb monthly download. If they intend to change it on the 22nd as stated to 10gb then they are misleading people. Sky as no loyalty to its exisiting customers once they sign you up they will do what they like. I sent them a letter on the 1st of May recorded delievery regarding another matter and they have not even had the decency to answer it. If they do cut it to 10gb on the 22nd without even giving exisiting customers a descent amount of warning then it proves that they are not worried about the customers they have and that this is just a ploy to get them to switch to max .

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

      Maybe it's 10GB/day?

Is it just to get Mid members to sign up to Max?

We wish I think, so that would be 10meg speed & 300 Gig download a month. If max customers need more than that what are they doing??

10 Gig is not enough for most people

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

I think I will be OK with the 10GB limit has I very rarely download that much but I do object strongly with how they have handled this. When they made me pay the extra 5 for Mid (as I don't have Sky Talk) I received a letter before Christmas and another one after it about it, but this time around they are leaving everything to the last minute and that leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

I also wouldn't be surprised if this was planned from the off, to get everybody signed up them hit them with this.
