Lol, I hate waiting and I don't think I will see any improvement to my speeds up or down and am happy with them as they are anyway. I wish they would leave me alone

I wonder just how smooth this will go, It always seems that whenever companies roll out this sort of thing, it does more damage than good.

Yes, I am worried it will go wrong.

Being about 200 mtrs from the exchange, I have always had the maximum connection speeds. I just hope it goes right.

Yes, and I am really concerned now. Just rebooted my router and my download speed has risen again from

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

I finally managed to cancel all my sky services within the 12 month initial contract period due to the change from MID to Everyday.

Sky relented and agreed they miss-sold the contract to me. They sold the MID package and by the time they installed it, they'd changed it to EVERYDAY. I had all kinds of problems trying to cancel TV, Telephone and BroadBand. They only cancelled broadband initially and stated that I'd signed up for 12 months on the other services.

After a lot of phone calls that got me absolutely nowhere, I resorted to snail mail communications only. Cancelling the direct debit and refusing to pay for anything seemed to get their attention. I got a 'we'll suspend your services' letter, then I got a few demands for payment. I replied to all these by snail mail, re-iterating my stance that the contract was miss-sold and that I considered it cancelled.

Eventually, I got a letter saying they'd clear the account. A few days later an engineer turned up to collect the Sky TV box.

Win for the little guy against the big corporation!!!

you're the people we hate getting on the phone...you know there's DLM, you know it has to run but oh no - you have to get in there early...i doubt it'll go down much if at all - it won't start at 4Mbps again if that's what people seem to think...

but any loss is your own fault and not Sky's...

I was just thinking (bored I know) that maybe they should start the DLM at the current customer speed and work up/down from that, do you think that is what will happen?

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

      DLM update:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14331 kbps 1044 kbps
Line Attenuation 28 db 15 db
Noise Margin 11 db 7 db

Downstream only reduced by 0.1megabit yet added 4 noise margin. Why is DLM being clever.... lol. Pretty damn happy with this. Especially considering the external noise in the evening.

Edit: wow and all of this with a ping of 25ms..... weird

When I joined Sky last January I synced at 16mb and that was that. I wasn't aware there was a DLM! Will wait to see what happens this time.
