Would someone be so good as to have a look at my stats and tell me what they think please? I phoned Sky recently and they said they were gonna perform DLM on my line sometime in the next few weeks. How helpful is that?

With a low SNRM like yours it is likely the DLM will reduce your download speed but may increase your upload speed. As you know that DLM will be applied soon, now is the time to check your internal wiring to try and increase your SNRM so you get the best from it. Have a read of the Cable and Faceplate section. Apologies if you have already done this.

Your noise margin looks a bit low, have you done all you can to improve your wiring?

Yeah, have an XTE-2005. Ring wire removed. I was also surprised - dropped 5db for an extra 1 meg. I'll have to see if this is stable in the evening though due to external interference. Happy with the upstream so far, hoping for 1024.

Can't think what happened to the noise margin though. I guess it's still touchy from the line fault lol.

So you were originally getting 13mb downstream?

Yes, strange really because before the line fault I use to sync at 14 meg with 12db noise margin. A broken aluminium cable was fixed and some automatic sky system had set it to 13 meg so I just decided to leave it like that (had NM of 12/13db). And now set back to the original before the line fault - it's still 5db down in comparison to what it used to be.

Nothing to worry about as I may get it set back to 13 meg due to external inteference in the evening but yeah - still a mystery. I'll be happy with the upload.

I think that is at the root of your problem. It does not perform as well as copper to begin with and is much more likely to be prone to corrosion.

Did you get an email or a letter telling you that DLM was about to begin?

Have heard about that - apparently our town has quite a lot of aluminium which is a shame but I think getting it set back to 13mb will fix this. Doesn't look as if it will affect the upload too much?

My Sky says line testing is in progress now. Also, If anyone's interested, I received an email titled "Enjoy faster broadband at no extra cost" on 30th july informing me of the new speeds. Maybe a hint as to when other peoples kick in?

Edit: just as i'm typing that it gets asked hehe.
