Which is why Sky want users like you to upgrade to the Unlimited package!

(I don't agree with the way they have gone about the new limits, but can see the reasons for it)

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

I'm sorry if this has been answered, but 56 pages is very long. But do the changes that Sky are making to my Broadband Mid/Everyday affect the length of my contract? ie does my 12 month contract start again from 1st August 2009?
      Tks.

No, it's not a new contract just an ammendment to the existing one so if you only have a few months left this will still be the case.

If you don't leave before then, it is considered that you agree to the new terms and you will not be able to break your existing contract without penalty.

Thanks Smithy; I know that this is a long shot but, does the fact that I have received an email from Sky telling me that my Sky broadband is getting faster got anything to do with BT's statement that 69 exchanges [including mine] are going to be fibred to the cabinet..??
thinkbroadband :: BT speeds up fibre rollout
Just wondered if any more Sky subscribers that have got the emails are also in the 69 exchanges..??

The emails are just informing customers that there line will be upgraded to the new package speed soon, as far as i know nothing to do with BT rollout FTTC.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but this is my first post.

I have just been changed to the new "wonderful" system. Testing of the line started on 19th July so has 2 days to go if the 10 days is relevant. My upload speed is higher but my download speed is half of what I got before
Is there anything I should be doing now or do I wait for the 10 days and then contact Sky?
      My line data is as follows;

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 1020 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 53.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 5.9 db 11.0 db

Speedtset .net measures 888Kbs consistently even though the upload speed changes. It measured 1.76Mbs two days before the change

try the test socket...if speed then goes up (or SNR at least) then you can call Sky and they can restart DLM (well, that's what's meant to happen - they'll probably just manually configure it as no one seems to know how DLM is meant to be used!!!)...
