Odd that Sky's implementation of annex A is so different to O2's.

I have an attenuation of 34.5db (not next door to the exchange or even close) but looking at my current stats on ADSL2+ annex A, I have an upstream sync of 1269 kbps - downstream of 13186 kbps (set to a 6.5db profile). Looking at various posts over on O2user, 1200+ upstream seems the norm.

I am happy with the speeds just waiting to see if I get the full 20 meg and maybe the 1.3 upload. It is still going through the dlm again.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Judging by the amount of posts and threads re MACs etc Its a real shame that Sky have done this.

They have absolutely desecrated a completely excellent product, and made it one that people have absolutely nothing positive to say about it, in fact, a bit like Connect.

I bet O2 are laughing all the way to the Leeds.

The snag is though, imho this is only the first wave, the same is going to happen in December, just before our credit runs out.

Yep - Sky only need half of those on Mid to change over to Max / Unlimited, and then the other 50% could actually leave, and still leave Sky with the same income, for less customers.

Yes, thats true, but I think they may have forgotten all the ones currently on max who, like myself, will have a 50% increase because they wont take Slytalk. When that happens in January Sky max isnt so attractive to the many with alternative isp's available to them.

And unfortunate to the ones without decent alternatives. I only have basic TV and I can be sure if Be unbundled my exchange I would be there in no time.. yeah I use sky tv, but I do not rely on or -need- it. + there's no way i'm going to aol, orange or talktalk lol

Anyway if 1024 uplink is the best I can hope for do you think I have the room to achieve this? (I know my down NM is high - external interference at night)

Who's gonna get rid of Sky TV? - me for starters!

there's nothing that compares with it... - Yes, you're quite right. No-one else I can think of provides multiple channels of crap and repeats.

I have already cancelled my HD sub. The only reason I still have any Sky subscription at all is because I am on Mid broadband for 5/month.

As from January 2010, unless I want to be capped to 10GB, I will have to move to Unlimited, and see a price rise from 5/month to 15/month ! There will no longer be any incentive for me to keep Sky TV and, come January, I will end my TV subscription.

I can't believe Sky have made such a massive mistake. SKY WILL LOOSE TV SUBSCRIPTIONS AND BROADBAND USERS!!

I can only think Murdoch has gone mad and wants to reduce his customer base.
