I can only get 6MB from my line unfortunately but I'm quite happy on MAX because of the unlimited downloads. A doubling of my upload speed would be great

oooo I wonder if the Max people all have tried to download the internet many times over and rather than have a big embaressing climb down over MAX they are trying to reduce their bandwidth bill by nobbling the Mid product,

That and they can then try and get another 5 a month out of the mid people when they try and sell them the Max product.

I don't think so, he seems to think this refers to the Connect product, which it doesn't. It definitely refers to Sky LLU products. The question of Sky Connect moving to BT's ADSL2+ is a separate issue, whether Sky will pay the extra cost without passing it on to the user is doubtful.

Roberto does mention the possibility of Base being withdrawn and the old base and Mid becoming one product. Which does kind of make sense.

Maybe someone should ring Sky sales and see what they are saying?

I think there may be a lot on the move, especially as only some of those who are getting 8Mb now will have any chance of getting the 10 Mb. If you can't get 8Mb now you have no chance of 10. For most this is going to be a severe reduction in service.

Thinking about this even more, it does not make sense for Sky to withdraw Base, as it is a huge marketing ploy. If they withdraw Base, then they could no longer offer free broadband, as Mid costs 5 or 10 per month.

Yes, it's their 'loss leader' no company would give that up without a lot of thought. I wonder how many have taken the free option, then very soon upgraded to Mid or Max.
