Sorry if this has been posted before but I'm finding it hard to fin the information in this thread as its so big!

Any ways, I got a letter last Thursday about Sky's changes and I'm impressed! So I've logged into the website and it says I'm on the 20mb unlimited package etc and they aren't any tests on my line, yet their hasn't been any increase of speed on my line. Any idea when the actual upgrades are happening or is it just totally random?

They should be rolled out during this month to existing customers.

Be warned though, not many people will se an increase in speed, if you currently have the maximum your line can get, you wont get any more.

Think of it like this:- you have a car that can only do 70mph, great on the motorway, if they increase the limit on the motorway to 100mph, your car will still only do the 70mph you had before.

I'm hitting full 16mb with some noise margin to spare

I'll keep waiting then! Thanks Sky for the free upgrade!

Is this a guess or an official statement?

I too am looking forward to the definite extra speed up and down.

When will the changes take effect?

If you’re a new customer joining Sky, the new packages take effect from 22nd June 2009. This will also be the first date that the initial group of existing customers will have their lines stabilised.
for the rest of our on-net customers, you can expect to go through this process between June and September.

Changes to Sky Broadband from June 22nd 2009

Where do you find this out? I'm losing track.

Also you know when you think you understand something, this 5 broadband/skytalk discount, is that coming to an end for everyone, even those with sky talk line rental?

You can find it under Broadband Service Details in MySky.

The 5 discount comes to an end for non-SkyTalk customers in January 2010.

So as I have Skytalk line rental my "everyday" cost remains at 5?
