Did you not read the release from Sky in this very thread? It said:

"All customers will be emailed at least 3 days before their go though the line stabilisation process."

Why would it, its a calculator not samknows. I was simply pointing out that there are other packages available as good as Sky's, if not better, for less than 25, not whether you personally can get them.
And I was simply pointing out that, to quote myself "the problem is that Sky Max is a very good deal at 15 per month... and dare I say it, 25 per month". To prove me wrong, go and get a quote of below 25 for an uncapped product from a non-LLU'd exchange...

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Looks like I have one of the worst combinations. I am/was on Sky Mid, Sky Talk and have line rental through Sky. I regularly use greater than 10GB but always less than 40GB. Sky Mid was perfect as Sky Max only offered extra speed and due to the distance to the Exchange, this wasn't going to happen. So, I am now faced with having to move to Sky Broadband Unlimited and paying more! Of course, I will investigate alternative ISP's as well.

The real worry is the line rental. Reading some of the info here suggests it could be a very bad thing should I wish to switch in the future, in terms of cost and potential loss of service. So, it seems to me I have to switch the line rental fast or am I misreading this? Does it read this way to anyone else? Are there any real advantages to the user in staying with Sky? Anybody moved their line rental back as a result of this and any good suggestions before I head to BT?

      Thanks,

      Mark

By the way, with 29 pages and over 280 replies so far, trying to find facts relating to the Sky Mid changes is kind of difficult. Any chance of splitting facts from the "ooo I am going to more speed" type of posts?? Maybe, some kind of FAQ or similar, which is read only?

      Just an idea,

If your line rental is with sky there is likley to be a delay, also there is an extra charge to switch it from sky about 100.00 i beleave. I have mid and phone but have retained my bt line so I dont have problems if I want to switch

      Good call...

Basically, Mid has been changed to 'Everyday' which has a headline speed of 10Mbps down/600kbps up and a 10GB a month Usage limit. You also get a 3 month trial of McAfee

      that's about it...

Isn't the 100 pound charge only if you need a physical line added not just for swapping who you pay the rental to?

Of course, if anyone does face a 100 pound bill to head to BT, check out the moneysavingexpert site, as apparently until next Tuesday (30th June) it is possible to get this for free (Get a free BT line installed)
