This usage cut = yet another price increase! This comes on top of the 100% increase Mid users have already just had. It really is that simple!

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Sorry, but sneaking it into a magazine that is known not to go to every customer is wrong.

I seem to get the magazine one in every 3 months, at best and I've been with sky for quite a number of years now, asking at work several colleagues have never received the magazine.

If I was on mid, and did not receive the magazine this month, this would give me every reason and position to complain about sky to the relevant organisation.

Thankfully I'm on max, but this is going to affect quite a number of people in an unfair way.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

I have sky max so this doesnt concern me. What I am concerned about is whether I will get the new "headline speed".

Also even if most of the time users dont use 40GB a month, having that leverage can be necessary and services such as the iplayer do not help.

This sounds like a typical case of getting customers to join then changing the service to make it WORSE not better especially since the only people who will benefit from the "improvements" are those who only use email and those who are ignorant of their true downloads.

I am seriously considering changing my service but unfortunately I like having no download cap, BT are too expensive and Tiscali are too dodgy. I still remember when sky cost only 13 a month though.

I seriously think sky should just come clean and have an advert with them stick two fingers in the air at the viewers.

I wont be seeing any changes myself until next year, but unless I see any improvements either in speed or service to justify the increase I will start looking at a switch.

      The family is very annoyed.

      How illogically irrational.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

Obviously trying to get mid users to go to max. If most people only use 10GB then why bother changing the limit from 40GB? How is it a benefit to anyone but sky? If it was a 20GB or 30GB limit then it wouldn't be so bad but to lower it this much is rubbish. Giving us a higher maximum download and upload speed is good but it's only really useful for downloading large files or streaming videos, something you wont be able to do as much anymore and the people who are able to get >8mbps are probably a small percentage of mid customers and probably the people who use more than 10GB a month.

I only get 5mb at the moment so having to pay an extra 5 just to get what I had with mid + a faster upload speed (at the expense of my download speed no doubt) is a joke.

      In summary:

Sorry if I've got this wrong but isn't the change to download cap for existing users happening as of 1st September? If so, Sky have plenty of time to contact those effected by email or whatever other means.
