I wonder if it is another hook for Sky Talk. You will notice the advert for 40Gb includes it, the other doesn't.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

right,i just phoned the number from sky.com to ask for my line NOT to be moved on to the new sky voice network and to request my mac code because of the change to usage on mid.
the first cs i spoke to didnt have an igloo at what i was on about and didnt know about any changes,so he put me through to support(thought thats who he was????)
i then spoke to an agent called martin who was very helpful,he knew about skys new network but nothing about the change in usage,i directed him to NR's post so he could have a read.
we ended up having a discussion for ages on the pros and cons of the move and why i wanted to leave and an interesting thing he said was,SKY dont have a department that deals with over usage and as far as he knows,no one has ever been penalised for going over there limit........
i got my mac code over the phone there and then so know its a matter of do i use it or do i carry on with sky.........
if every cs agent was like martin who i spoke to,ringing would be a pleasure....

Your MAC is valid for 30 days, which gives you plenty of time to evaluate the current situation. It should not cancel your Sky broadband in the event that you do not use it.

NR..i used it already,im in a lose lose situation,i refuse to be forced onto max and after dlm my line will be worse.for some reason my up speed is set higher by cst so after dlm it will go down, for gaming its a no no so im off.....
thankfully youve got o2user so im already registered and with the help and support ive had on here it can only get better.
i was happy with sky, always had 100% praise for there tech support and i love the tv,its just the messing with the mid pack that got me..

According to what has been reported, new customers go straight on to the new speeds, so you should have nothing to worry about after the initial 10 days training.. It is us 'old hands' who have cause for concern.

      ummm

If you aren't in one of the Sky Broadband network areas yet, you can still get great value, super fast broadband with Sky Broadband Connect. With up to 10Mb* download speed and a 10GB monthly usage allowance, Connect is perfect for regular browsing and downloading.
      Sky Connect

Either Connect is now changing, or the roll out of changes to their site has gone drastically wrong. As in the box below it definitely says 40gb
