If that's right, they can still offer 40GB, and if most users still use under 10GB, it doesn't matter what the cap is, they're not gonna download 40GB instead just to spite Sky are they?
I think what Sky want to do is force those who use over 10Gb to upgrade to Max. It does raise the question, if Sky know what individual users are using, why have they not given us access to our usage?
It may be the (not very) thin end of the wedge, what is to stop them saying next year that most of the 'Everyday' users are only using 4 Gb, so we are reducing the download allowance to that.

Well speaking personaly I'm glad to be on Sky Connect which I get for 5 per month not 17 (don't ask) and my regular actual speeds are around 6.7 mbps and I'll still get 40 gig a month

      Yeah

10GB is ridiculous though. Even the Australians will be laughing

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

I'm probably going to order Sky tomorrow.

      Should I get near 20mbps?

      Downstream Rate: 7616 Kbps
      Upstream Rate: 448 Kbps
      Downstream Margin: 16db
      Upstream Margin: 23db
      Downstream Line Attenuation: 14
      Upstream Line Attenuation: 10

      Thanks

With a downstream attenuation of 14dbs, you must be close to the exchange and should get the full 20Mb easily.

Re: Sky Broadband Changes - 22nd June

atm im on sky mid and get 7.6+ on actual downloads, my down atten is 32 so i recon ill get the full 10mb, almost tempted to go for 20mb....but really dont dl that much

I pretty much only game so the ping is more important to me. I have my max delay reduced to 8 so as long as this system upgrade doesnt effect that i dont really care tbh.
