I did got round the houses with the menus, went to 1 (current customer) and then 4, and just asked for the offer as per the website.

Free of charge they said as I have most things except Sky Line Rental with them
So, did you actually change your package recently or are you getting one purely based on your existing setup. Is this thread suggesting anyone with BB, Skytalk and TV is entitled to one or do you have to change something (something like be a new customer )

Yes afaik - You should be able to test individually by putting the grip around the appliance's cord so to speak.

Not that I know of. If by any chance we receive ours first, I can see what comes with it for you.

I would assume there would be some kind of software interface. Again I can check asap
The Sky one is a rebadged Current Cost C128 Envi - Current Cost - Reducing your energy bills so you can live a greener life

It does allow info download to a PC, although you will have to purchase, or make up the relevant lead (RJ45-USB) It DOES not allow single item monitoring, as the clamp needs to go around the single live cable, and won't work on a 2 or 3 core cable - However, they are developing individual appliance monitors at the moment, which should work with these.

Free software can be downloaded here Current Cost - Reducing your energy bills so you can live a greener life!

Well I received a letter yesterday saying thanks for upgrading, which I haven't, I think they just do that to get it through the system.

It should be here in the morning with a bit of luck.

I don't have everything with Sky, I have:-

Full TV sub inc. HD (movies & sport)
      Sky-Max (unlimited)
      Sky Talk Unlimited

They didn't even ask for me to upgrade to S-L-R etc.

      Re: Operation Save Energy

      OK cheers.

Re individual appliance monitoring, what I was meaning is can it tell you how much money it is costing for the load?

To monitor individual appliances I will be making an extension lead with a box where the 3 cores are separated so the clamp can be put around the live wire only. This should allow it to work.

      Cheers for the other info.

Will the last person please stand up & let them know so the rest of us can get ours

      Re: Operation Save Energy

Only way i can think of monitoring individual appliances would be to turn absolutely everything of and just have the appliance running and watch it for an hour but this could be impractical.

      Re: Operation Save Energy

I dont suppose anyone knows where I can find the info needed to make my own lead?

I already have a serial to USB adapter with the prolific chip in it I can customise for this.

This is where my extension lead plan will come into force, as only what is plugged into the lead will then be monitored.
BY clipping onto only one core of the cable, hence needing a box to put the clamp in & separate the cables.
(this bits certainly not a problem for me, others may not want to mess with electric cables tough as the stuff inside them can kill if not messed with properly )

Yes it works like a clamp ammeter, could you not get one of those plug-in power monitors for individual applinaces, I think Maplin do them.
