      Probably using a crappy speedtester.

If you do not currently get 16mb and have the stats to get more then your speed will not change so I doubt you will see any improvement, sorry

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

I have had issues with my Sky Broadband Max for quite a while - when i first got the service (Max) we were connecting at 15.9 and get speedtests (speedtest.net) of an average 14.3MB/s which was great - after about 6-7months this speed disappeared to 10MB/s - its taken over a year, being put onto DLM several times but im fiannly back at the best speed - connecting now at 16.3 on router and getting from 14.3MB/s to 15.4MB/s on speedtests.

Im only 700m for the exchange which is great - if this new upgrade goes ahead (like its says new speeds coming soon etc in the letter)

What is a good line Attenuation? mines 20.5 Downstream and 12.1 Upstream - is that good? will that see a benifit for the supposed new speeds ?

With that attenuation, provided you also have a decent noise margin, you should be one of the lucky ones who see an increase. It is not really possible to say how much until the line is tested.

it will be very interesting to see what me and you get.

      here is my stats.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16215 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 27.0 db 11.9 db

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

By the look of your downstream noise margin you will not get any more speed with that noise margin as it is.
Connected at 17Mbps on sky unlimited
