Strangely he also said they were now only running DLM on new or problem lines. Might be worth just messaging them yourself. Heres the link

What did you ask them exactly, do you have the exact email /message by any chance?

I suppose if they did it for you then it can't hurt to ask...

In a word Yes! The product you are on provides up to 20 Mb, your must have a very long or very poor line if the estimate is so low.

Start your own thread, including your stats from the normal position and from the Test socket if you have one. Use the links at the bottom of the Quick Links box on the left for information on these.

Don't pay any notice to the broadband stats page it is never up to date.
I would just phone sky and get the speed increased, by your stats get the upstream speed upped.
Are those stats from the test socket and do you have any extensions.
Connected at 17Mbps on sky unlimited

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

Your speed seems to have dropped considerably since you first went on to ADSL2+, when you were getting 11Mb.This suggests you have a fault somewhere. Also when DLM is run on your line it will possibly drop the speed further.

Their original estimate for your line means nothing when you have had a much higher speed for at least 2 and a half years,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I could find no way to directly write to them via the KANA form so I just selected the slow connection option.

      (Technical Support-->Sky Broadband-->Connection-->Slow Connection)

They sent me a big email with general advice on resolving a slow connection. I replied to it with this:

      "Hi Sky Team,

I don't have a problem with a slow connection as such, but could find no other way of contacting the broadband department regarding my line speeds.

I am aware that since mid June you have been running DLM again to upgrade unlimited customers to the new 20mb/1.4mb down/up connection limits. As you can see from the stats below I am already virtually at the limit for the download speed with very little room left in the noise margin. However there is room left in the upload margin, perhaps enough to go up to 1mb? I would very much appreciate it if you could reconfigure my line to take full advantage of what noise margin I have left. Any increase in upload speed would improve my online gaming speeds. On a related note, I have also had my max delays reduced to 8 to lower my ping (again for online gaming) so if this would be 'undone' by a reconfiguration of my line could you please redo this as well?

Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you

Less than 48 hours later I received this reply:

      "Hi Kelly-Marie

Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.

I can see why you said you had a good connection, however I have reconfigured your connection and I am please to say we have a stable connection with an upstream of 970Kbps (as good as 1Meg) and a downstream of 17 Meg.

The DLM was not running, we apply the DLM only on new lines or lines we suspect that are creating errors.

I hope this helps and enjoy your gaming.

      Thanks

with your downstream SNR i'm surprised you got anything else out of it seeing as 7dB is the default...

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

Are you actually syncing at 17Mb? Although your line has been set to it does not mean you will get it. Your new stats would be interesting?
