Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

      Hello Everyone,

I've just had the dreaded email from Sky telling me about the fantastic upgrade thats about to happen......so i guess i'm in for 10 days of slow speeds!!!!

Anybody have any idea how long from getting the email DLM will start on my line???

Also, i get about 7616K download and 768 upload.

My att down is 46 and about 19 up.

My nosie ratio is about 7.2 down.

I don't think i will get anymore speed and to be honest i don't mind but i have a feeling that it will only get lower......any advice!!!

You are unlikely to see any improvement in your download, but your upload will probably increase. From reports it seems to take from 2 -10 days to start, remember don't reboot or turn off your router during this period.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

I think I may have cocked up my DLM process.

My DLM started on last Thursday. On Saturday, my speeds were upto 19 something down and 1. something up. Sorry, can't remember exact figures.

I renewed all my cabling and master box and faceplate etc on Saturday, so was disconnected for a couple of hours.

I think DLM may have seen that as a problem, as my download speed has dropped to 18008 and has been rock solid at that since getting back online.

I have never had any lost packets at all even when upto 19 something.

If my speed does not increase before the end of DLM, should I make contact and ask them to do it again or even manually tweak it?

I am 200 mtrs from the exchange.

It seems to vary from 4-10 days or more. I think it depend on how stable your line is. You have a very short line so it should not take too long to test it. Longer lines on the other hand, could take much longer as they will be more susceptible to interference.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

Should I contact sky and ask them to do it again as my router was not connected for at least 2 hours whilst I renewed all cabling etc.

My synch speed never achieved what it had before that day again.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

Why not give them a call and see if they can improve it. Tell them that your router was disconnected during part of the time DLM was running and that may have effected it. Also add you were getting over 19000 with a good margin before it ran.

Is there a best phone number to use or department to ask for?
