      what more does it cost?
As you say, supplying 20 Mb to those lucky few who can get it cost no more, but if Sky were to manually configure every line it would. Support agents would be tied up for weeks, which would mean employing more or neglecting the ones with real problems. I would think it will be done on an exchange basis, rather than individually.

I am on the Clacton exchange and this is 16mb but my upload is only 412.
Also on the sky site it says

Your Sky Broadband & Speed Estimate

Sorry, this service is currently unavailable. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

      Also what does this mean

Broadband On-net monthly loyalty discount of #5 until 01/01/10 (Auto-tnf)

We went from BT phone to Post office phone just the other month but if I change to sky will it go faster?

I've had that since the upgrades were announced, except for a couple of days when it reported my line was ok for 10-20MB speeds. It's back to unavailable now.

It means you are getting the concession from Sky to keep BB prices frozen until Jan 2010. If you sign up for Sky Talk (with or without line rental) , it probably won't affect the speed much but would retain the 5 discount! You would need to check though what you have committed to with the Post Office. If there's a minimum term then you are stuffed.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

That was what was put forward on the forum, but I don't think anyone who really knows, is prepared to say. Sky are famous for their "don't let the right hand know what the left is doing" attitude.

Where do we learn about if we are receiving an upgrade? I follow the link on the email I got but there is nothing about an upgrade.

Everyone is receiving an 'upgrade', whether you will benefit depends on what your stats are now. Most will receive at least a small increase in their upload, the download depends on what you have now. If you don't have very near the maximum speed and/or have a high noise margin, you are unlikely to benefit.
