Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

This is a discussion on Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds? within the Sky news and announcements forums, part of the SkyUser Announcements category; Extremely similar to mine, and I've been told I should see pretty much the full 1.3mbps (minus overhead ofc)...

Several members are already enjoying the faster download and upload speeds.

and im not one of them , doubt if i ever will be either its like banging ya head against a brick wall when it comes to sky and the techs they dont seem to wanna change nothing for you and as for being a loyal customer to sky for over 10 years us long term customers dont get nothing , just new customers which i find really frustrating at times

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

It means that when "we" were new customers we got the deal that was on at the time we signed up.

These deals change and if Sky were to put all customers new and old on them then thwy would never get a steady income and would not be able to maintain profits, that is what they run this company for afterall.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

agree with u a bit but what has that got to do with the speeds increasing?
they charge the same ammount of money for the 16mbit package as they do for the 20mbit package , so profits is not an issue with the speed thing

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

It costs Sky money to make changes, so they are less likely to go through a manual upgrade process for every existing customer. To run automated speed upgrades I'm guessing they can't just throw a switch and change all the accounts at once. New customers are ok because they get DLM on their line from the start.

They know that most existing customers will not go through the hassle of changing provider so they get away with it.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

      what more does it cost?
were on adsl2+ which is capable of 24mbit anyways so i disagree it costs more money to switch us over as were already on the technology the 20mbit is on
