Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14946 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 36 db 20 db
Noise Margin 7 db 9 db

There are my stats, no real change in upload speeds, but i guss thats the best they can be,
before my upload was the same but download sync connection speed was about 11-12.
Its interesting to see if anything major is happening with anybody else, experecing in the change in speed.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

you're upload ONLY increases if you're on DLM as the script is raising speeds when it shouldn't be...same for downstream...

Before it was about 11-12mb, now its 13-15mb
Unless you were syncing at 16 Mb or just below, you will not see any increase in your speed due to the lifting of the 16Mb cap. Your increase is more likely to be due to improvements on your line, maybe a poor stretch of wire has been replaced.

Re: Sky Broadband Max - New Faster Speeds?

Hiya people, I've just received a letter from Sky saying they're going to be "transfering me to a new network" soon.

"We have built a new state-of-the-art network to deliver your broadband and phone service"

"These changes will take effect from the 15th June 2009"

Has anyone else received this letter or can anyone shed anymore light on this subject?

P.s. Sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place. I tried starting a new thread but wasn't able to.

Maybe you could post a copy of the letter, with personal references removed?

Could you also post your present stats so we can see your present connection type? I ask this to determine whether you are actually on Max or are one of the many who think they are on Max and are actually on Connect.

      More info here:
      New Voice & Broadband Network

They appear to be moving to from SMPF (shared LLU) to MPF (full LLU- taking complete control of the line); in a bid to cut costs, I'd presume. I'd assume broadband (LLU) customers will remain unaffected by this unless they take Sky Talk.
