      Hi,
I hate to do this, but I also have a rant. Why is it that new customers get Sky+HD for 49 and free fitting. When loyal customers like us (who have been with sky for 8 years and use SKY Talk, Broadband and TV) have to pay for the fitting service. At the moment, I refuse to go for this offer as I hate the way that sky treats us loyal customers with complete and utter disdain. How is it that people who have never put a single penny into Sky's deep pockets get a far better deal than those who have been boosting Sky's profits for years. It makes me sick that an international company like this can disregard loyalty in such a blatant way.

Well it's been said before and it'll be said again.

You were once a 'new customer' and had a 'new customer' offer. New customers will always get an enticement over existing customers. It's business. Sky is no different to any other companies in any industry.

49 for a HD box plus 30 install is a steal for existing customers. Existing customer upgrades have never been so competively priced compared to new customer deals.

I would agree with you, apart from the fact, that if you go for this offer, you still have to pay out to receive Sky HD broadcasts. Therefore they are still getting more money from you as an existing customer. It's not as though they are upgrading the gear and then getting nothing in return. Due to that, I'm afraid I cannot agree with you.

Well nope, cos the offer is to entice a new customer of which they will get a bare minimum sub of 1 mix plus the HD mix, with you they just get the extra income of the HD mix.

As such a new customer will generate more new income for HD than an existing customer.

It's the way of the business world I'm afraid.

Of course, if anyone feels that strongly, then cancel all yours subs and wait 12months, then you will be entitled to the new customer offers and save yourself that 30.

I called up on Saturday to order the HD box for 49, I asked the operator before I confirmed if there was any chance of free install without taking an additional multiroom, she said no, so I asked to speak to someone who could arrange it. Got put through to the retention team who said as I was a long serving customer I could have the free install. PLUS he said eveyone he had spoken to that day got free install too. You don't ask, you don't get :-)

How long have you been a Sky customer for?

I would love to get Sky HD with free fitting and have been with Sky for nearly 3 years.
