i agree, im a tv junkie so have loads of series links rather than right them down i am gonna take a picture and view it on my laptop.

oooo I just remembered, when we moved the Sky+ box upstairs and put the HD box in the living room, as the viewing cards are then repaired to the new boxes any existing recording made on the Sky+ box will not work!!!

This is due to the encryption and so any program you want to watch will need to be moved to DvD/video.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Just keep the original card in the Sky+ and pair the card from the standard receiver to the new HD box.

I see that the setup is free if you take out multiroom. What happens if you already have multi-room? Worst case could I cancel it and then just start it again with the HD deal? 10 months into initial contract so cannot remember if multiroom had an initial minimum contract

Speculation has been rife all over the internet, with rumours ranging from VOD (Video On Demand) to 3D TV being launched. As we reported early January, Sky have now confirmed that Sky+HD boxes are to be had, by new and existing* customers, for 49

      Details of the offer:

      • Sky+HD box 49 when you take the HD Pack and Sky TV and existing* customers sign up to another 12 month minimum term for Sky TV
      • Free standard set-up for new customers
      • 30 standard set-up for existing* customers, (free if taken with Multiroom.)
      • If you order online, you get the first month of HD Pack free (saving 9.75)

The HD pack costs 9.75 per month. Sky Multiroom costs 9.75 per month.

To see more information about this offer please visit Sky's new HD Offer pages.

*Existing customers: One 49 box per household and not available if you already have SkyHD/Sky+HD box. Sky+HD box price 199 for customers not eligible for 49 box price (Sky TV and HD Pack subscriptions required).
I have just registered for the Sky+HD. As I already have a basic sky package & don't want multiroom the cost is 49 + the 30 installation. The problem is according to the text sent from Sky you can only order in 3 months time. That is a long wait. I wonder if new customers get faster. Can independent Sky installers install in less than 3 Months?
Sky are being rather crafty as to have Sky+ is 149 at present which does make you side towards the Sky+ HD though will 9.75 be worth it for HD. I wonder if the Sky+ HD can be used as normal Sky + if you decide to unsubscribe to HD after a year.

Are youa new customer as I received the following text from Sky:

Are you a new customer as I registered yesterday & have to wait 3 months.
We've had a huge response to our great new prices, with lots of customers registering to upgrade and we're working through each registration in turn.

At the moment, we expect that you'll be able to complete your order and arrange installation in around 3 months. We appreciate this might seem like a long time but we're working as fast as we can to get you set up as soon as possible.
