Was in Currys and they have literature stating that new customers can get Sky+HD for 49 (free installation) and existing customers can also get it for 49 (60 installation) but must take out the multiroom option...

      New ad on Sky....

TV (or similar) is changing, to find out how, look in your SkyMag.

Obviously something to do with the rumours.

      - Maybe they mean TV is changing by switching itself off..

Yes I guess that could be it instead of the other rumours.

Re: Current Rumours For Sky - January 2009

We predict the following based on rumours heard tonight:

      Free Sky+ Box (T&C's apply)
      Sky+HD boxes for 49 (T&C's apply)
New Line Provide - If you don't have a BT line, Sky can now provide this for free (T&C's apply)

      (for new customers afaik)

Re: Current Rumours For Sky - January 2009

Sky are to launch NVN (New Voice Network) - (unconfirmed)

Not a lot of information to report on this, but the impression we get, is that this will apply to exchanges that currently have (or are getting) Sky LLU equipment. This would basically allow Sky to have their own Telephony products and no longer rely on Wholesale Line Rental. WLR (according to WikiPedia) is whereby a supplier would rent multiple phone lines from BT at a reduced rate, and then pass these savings on to their customers. Obviously with Sky now cutting this process out, theoretically as no rental is payable, calls could be cheaper. Although that is pure speculation on my behalf.

Sky is able to provide line rental for any customer even if the customer doesnt have an active bt line. It's not that we are cutting out bt , it more so we are on the same level as BT retail, we hire the line directly for BT wholesale as a retailer.

The service is exactly the same on a technical level as BT retail, but its cheaper than BT and you get two calling features for free (caller display and 1571 voicemail). It has nothing to with LLU as the LLU are Sky's DSLAM's(broadband computers) in the exchange, Sky rent the PSTN ( telephone computers)directly from BT wholesale, any issue requiring an engineer still go to BT openreach, being a broadband and Wlr advisor , i thought i would clear this thought/rumour

so, its not the TV thats changing, but its a good idea that, and maybe oneday they will have 10million zilion call centers who give you a accountnumber starting with GB AND THEN GO OH! AND TRANSFER YOU FOR 20 MINUTES.or it might turn out ok, i like calling sky HATE BT

its not the TV thats changing,
There's still that aspect as well. The above rumours are only for the offers and nothing to do with the TV ads.
