MTVN HD makes 30 on Sky+HD

We thought we had Christmas all sewn up with the launch of Disney Cinemagic HD earlier this month, but weve managed to pull yet another cracker out of the bag in time for Christmas. Get ready to welcome MTVN HD to your channel line up.

MTVN HD, the UKs first music led HD channel, has tuned its keys and is all set to join us as the 30th channel on the Sky+HD platform. The 24-hour, ad-free channel will bring you a mix of the greatest live performances, extreme sports, music charts and magazine shows to your living room, all with the added intensity of a high definition picture and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

Our revised line-up means that we now have more than 40 times the HD output of any other UK HD platform.

On that musical note, we wish you all an HD filled happy Christmas. Well be back in the New Year!

      Thanks
      Sky+ HD Team

Isn't this channel currently using Dolby 2.0 surround?

Is there any news of any new HD channels coming soon? I would quite like to see Dave in HD or Paramount Comedy which I hear will be changing its name to Comedy Central.

With Dave there probably isn't much point as almost everything on there was recorded in standard def and I suppose they wouldn't want to waste money on the transponder.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Awww thats a shame. What Channels are most likely to get the HD makeover then?

Edit: Just a thought, I know that most shows on DAVE were shot in SD but I watched Disney the other day and it showed a very old cartoon in HD that looked pretty good. Not sure if it was upscailed or whot but it looked like a earley 60's or 70's animated short. If they can do it to this why not to shows on DAVE?? I guess there is more to it I dont understand.

Most of Disneys back catalogue is on film, so the resolution available is better than HD. Things look pretty good on Disney most of the time.
