Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

This is a discussion on Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers within the Sky news and announcements forums, part of the SkyUser Announcements category; I think the New customer thing is to get round this clause in the T & Cs - (c) You ...

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

I think the New customer thing is to get round this clause in the T & Cs -

      (c) You can only end this Contract during your Minimum Term if: (i) Conditions 7(a), 10(b) or 11(e) apply; or
(ii) we increase your Sky Broadband Payment more than once, or by more than 10%
or the increase in the UK Retail Price Index over the 12 months before we tell you
about that price increase, whichever is the greater, unless Condition 6(c) applies.
Obviously, anyone out side the minimum period would be in a position to leave anyway, with 1 months notice.

No one seems to have replied to my query in post # 157. As always their communications are clear as mud.

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

I was having a look at my Sky Bills and I noticed for the latests bill generated it states:

Broadband On-net monthly loyalty discount of 5 until 01/01/10 and adjusts the VAT credit of 0.18 on my bill.

Now I have Sky HD, Multiroom and BB Mid, I moved house in April 2008 so I was outwith the 6 month period but I qualify for the discount and had no letter.

At my folks house where I had Sky for over 6 years got a letter about the discount, they are also getting it and only have Multiroom and BB Mid.

So it looks like the CSR's are all confused about this issue.

We have already brought this up with Sky and are awaiting some further feedback. We will update this thread once we hear from Sky.

I've just checked my latest bill and can confirm that it also shows Broadband On-net monthly loyalty discount of 5 until 01/01/10 even though I only "qualify" by virtue of having a Multiroom subscription having got rid of Skytalk some time ago. I've also not received any letter from Sky about this.

      The plot thickens............

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

Received my latest bill today. States offer for discount on broadband ends 1st October 2010. Package Sky World with Family Pack, Multiroom and Broadband Max. Anyone else had bill with this date?
Also have 2 other credit adjustments on bill. Not sure what these are for but think it might be something to do with VAT being reduced to 15%. Refund from time of change to my bill in January which showed reduction re VAT change.

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

I also have 2 VAT credits plus this-
01/03/2009 - BB On-net monthly discount of #5 when any ST product exists on the acc 0.18 CR
Looks like someone has hit the # instead of the .
Anyone know what 'ST' is? I have SkyTalk would that be what it means? Seems likely, but knowing Sky it could be Still Trying

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

Joined Sky broadband base in August last year. Just checked the bill and found out I'm being charged from 1st of March.

Thought there was no charge for those who joined in the 6 months before November? Anyway, just called up to cancel the movie channels so total package cost is about the same....

From what we understood and from the OP:

Customers who take either Sky Broadband Max, Sky+HD or Sky Multiroom (or a combination of the 3) will automatically see their current broadband pricing frozen until January 2010, in recognition of their loyalty. This information should be going out in the letters from Sky informing it's broadband customers of the rises, sometime after 25th November.

Only customers registered for either of those three services by Monday the 24th November 2008 will qualify for this price freeze.

It would appear that you didn't qualify because you ordered Base and not Max, unless you meet any of the other conditions?
