Dunno about you guys, but I have no choice about taking Sky TV.
Some call it loyalty, but we don't have cable in this area so we have no choice. It's Sky or Freeview, loyalty doesn't come in to it.
Sky know this too when you phone them trying to blag a better deal. They know damn well I can't take my business anywhere else.
But, having said that, I have no complaints with Sky, and I've been with 'em since the old analogue days!

It is really a price freeze for people who already meet Sky's latest "Customers who take more than just TV and basic services" target! Nothing really to do with loyalty, 1991 or anything else!

Freeview/Freesat -whatever. Neither of them have the channel line-up of Sky!
The point is, if you want choice of channels then you have to pay for it. If you're in a cable area then you have choice of supplier. In a Sky only area you can't play one off against the other and don't Sky know that!

It's not Skys fault that you and I live in non- cable locations, go and complain to Virgin! or there is always BT Broadband and the joys (or otherwise!) of BT Vision.

Re: Price Freezes for some Loyal Customers

You misunderstand me Brian. I'm NOT complaining.
When cable was being installed here many moons ago, they targeted the sink estates and other areas of high unemployment first. We, out in the sticks, with a job & a mortgage, were never going to be cabled up.
But some people here talk of loyalty to Sky. For me it's not loyalty. I have no other choice!

Oh, and I left BT to get Sky BB & Talk. I've just chucked out my Vision box, after stripping out the 160Gb HDD. A nice idea, Vision, but lacking investment and support from BT. And, it'll NEVER rival Sky!

But some people here talk of loyalty to Sky.
I think its more a choice of what we can get, and not loyalty. I have already said on here loads of times, that I think it is still unfair to those on Base or Mid without the credit. Short of going down to Sky and hijacking the guy or woman that could change this, there is nothing more I can say to help out.

I for one will remain loyal to the company who gives me the best value for money. As for Sky - you can't really complain about the TV side of it as it knocks holes out of VM, but BB is a different matter. The only reason I am staying for the BB is the fact my price has not increased. Although in January 2010 things could be different.
